Welcome to my personal website! My name is Jun Zhao (I also go by Bean). I am currently an assistant professor of Economics in the Department of Economics at York University, Toronto, Canada.
Before joining YorkU, I received the Ph.D. degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University and then taught for one year at The University of Alabama. I also hold an M.A. and B.A. in Economics, and a B.S. in Mathematics from Renmin University of China.
In my job market paper, I develop a two-stage contest model with entry and also a model for voters to study the effects of campaign spending on electoral outcomes given endogenous candidate entry in the U.S. Senate elections.
